We have ourselves a name

Well we have a name for the week- yes you're right last week we had another first name. But hey at least we've settled on a middle name and that hasn't changed in the least bit. And for some reason I have a feeling that this name might stick. J apparently really likes it. Not only do we both like it, but we also like the meaning of it- which for me is a really big thing. My name means something and really fits me perfectly, I want my son to have a name that means something for him. I had wanted to make sure that he had ties with his family from his name too so the middle name we had decided on was beyond perfect.
So here's the name list and some commentary to go along with it...
James- not only do I love the sound of this name, but I could call him Jimi
David- I know someone awesome by this name, it also sounds straight out like a great name for a boy
Daniel- this is my step dads name- take that as you will, It's also J's middle name
Michael- I have 2 family members with this name- it sounds great
Matthew- has a nice ring to it
Adam- J's brothers name, awesome classic name
Aaron- this is A's ex-whores name but I still like the name, just not the connotations... skank bitch
Alexander- love the name, love the nicknames that can go with it
Christopher- I worry that I'd be a horrible mom and call him Crisi
Hermes- this is my great grandfather's name, it would make a kick ass middle name- but this is from the person who names everything she can after deities
Eric- one of the greatest men in the world has this name...
Mark- this is my dad's oldest brother's name, he died before he was 25 I love the name but I'd be slightly afraid of it I think
Nikolas- this is my baby brother's name, it's classic, strong, and elegant, but same with using another brother's name I'm worried that things might get slightly confusing.
When looking at the list I realized that apparently I have about the same taste as my dad's mom- Eric is my dad's name, 3 of his brothers are names Michael, Christopher, and Mark. My other realization- I prefer classic names. Just how classic you may ask? Well you'll see with our decision. ^.^

So what did we pick?
Alexander Eric- We're still debating if we're going with the greek spelling (Alexander) or the french spelling (Alexandre) but either way we like the name. It means defender of man.
"Latinized form of the Greek name Αλεξανδρος (Alexandros), which meant "defending men" from Greek αλεξω (alexo) "to defend, help" and ανηρ (aner) "man" (genitive ανδρος). In Greek mythology this was another name of the hero Paris, and it also belongs to several characters in the New Testament. However, the most famous bearer was Alexander the Great, King of Macedon. In the 4th century BC he built a huge empire out of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India. Due to his fame, and later medieval tales involving him, use of his name spread throughout Europe."
And Eric is my father's name meaning Eternal Ruler.
All in all just right we're thinking.

AWWW!! I think it's a perfect name. I was leaning towards David, but I'm bias (LOL). I can't wait, I need to start looking into flights to come out there after the little man gets here.
